Social Impact

Love only grows by sharing. You can only have more for yourself by giving it away to others.

― Brian Tracy

At Sequoia Scholars, we believe that giving back to our community is important. We hope to make an impact on the world we live in, and we consider it an honor to share our resources. That’s why a portion of our profits will go to charities with missions that align with our values.

Black Voters Matter https://www.blackvotersmatterfund.org/

The United States has a history of restricting black voters. From grandfather clauses to unfair literacy tests to mass incarceration, barriers have been preventing the African American vote. Our support for Black Voters Matter stems from the belief that all citizens deserve an equal voice — a voice guaranteed by our Constitution. Black Voters Matter is an organization that advocates for more effective voting. Their goals include increased voter registration and policies for equity.

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital https://www.stjude.org/

St. Jude’s is a medical organization dedicated to treating cancer and other diseases. They have saved the lives of many children, raising the childhood cancer survival rate from 20% to 80%. They are unique in their no-bill policy for families and strive to create a personal relationship with each of the kids who walk into their hospitals. Cancer is a cause that is close to our heart, and we support St. Jude’s ground-breaking work and compassion.

The Navajo Water Project https://www.navajowaterproject.org/

Water is a resource we all take for granted. With the turn of our tap, we can access fresh drinking water in a matter of seconds. However, this is not the case for many Navajo communities — even though water is a necessity for life. The Navajo Water Project recognizes these injustices. It has served hundreds of families in the South since 2014 by bringing water to communities lacking infrastructure. The Navajo Water Project uses technology such as wells and solar power.

We Feed Food Drive

We believe that giving to our local communities is just as important as supporting national causes. We contribute to our municipal food drive. The food bank allies with local churches and synagogues to increase food security.

Our Footprint

We were recognized by our Mayor for our contribution to the local Food Drive. Proceed to the two-minute mark to hear the shoutout.
